Step 1. Mix some dish soap into luke warm water. Do not use soap on pearls, as they are too delicate. Step 2. Soak the jewellery in the water for about 5 minutes. Step 3. Use a soft brush, e.g. a toothbrush, to clean under stones or use your fingers to gently rub the area. Step 4. Rinse the jewellery in water and dry with a clean soft cloth. Don't use paper, as it can scratch the jewellery.
Oxidized silver jewellery
Silver can get oxidised and in some cases, it will travel through the plating and show a discoloration. You can use a silver polishing cloth and gently rub on the area until it's gone. If your jewellery shows heavy signs of oxidisation, we recommend you dip a polishing cloth into a silver cleaning solution and rub on the affected areas. Do NOT dip the jewellery into the silver clean solution, as it can damage elements like, pearls, rubber, stones etc. After cleaning, rinse the jewellery in water to remove any leftover chemicals.
Discoloured gold jewellery
Oxidised or discoloured gold jewellery can happen in rare cases. Gold from 9K to 18K have metals like cobber and silver in the alloy, which are natural oxidants. If you see a light discolour, you can use a gold polishing cloth and rub on the area until it’s gone.
