Avoid turning and twisting the jewellery, it heals best when left alone. If you do need to touch it for any reason, if it's itchy, for example, make sure to wash your hands beforehand. Otherwise, avoid touching your piercing and the surrounding area at all, but especially avoid touching it if your hands are not washed.
Avoid changing your piercing jewellery too soon, double check with your piercer if you feel like you'd like to do it / it's time. We recommend booking a follow-up after a month from your first piercing appointment. - Please refrain from removing jewellery from the piercing during the healing process. - When the piercing has healed a little and the swelling has gone down, book a follow-up to replace your back post to a shorter, more comfortable length.
We know that the piercing process may seem a little intimidating. But don’t you worry, you are in good hands! Our piercers are experienced in their field and will walk you through the whole process step-by-step.
1. Avoid submerging the piercing in unhygienic bodies of water such as lakes, pools, hot tubs, etc., or make sure to protect your piercing using a waterproof wound sealant bandage. These are available at most drugstores.
2. Sleeping directly on a healing cartilage piercing can cause irritation, even causing shifts in the piercing’s angle. Placing a travel pillow, on top of your pillow, and then placing your ear in the opening can be helpful to avoid this issue.
Make sure to book a follow-up appointment in a month after your piercing session, or sooner should you wish to ask questions or simply check up on the healing progress. Book here.
