This guide provides you with our recommendations on how to care for your new piercing(s), aligned with current professional piercing and healthcare standards. Make sure to follow the advice of our piercers in regards to your newly curated ear. If you experience any trouble with your new piercing, make sure to contact our piercing studios or book a follow-up appointment - we will make sure to help you out. You can also follow our guidelines or read through our aftercare guide below.
Step 1: Start by cleaning your hands.
Step 2: Grab a piece of clean kitchen paper or a gauze and spray the saline solution directly on it.
Step 3: Clean the front area and the back area, making sure that any discharge or dried blood is removed.
Step 4: Make sure that you dry the area properly – If there are any moisture left, it can affect the healing process negatively.
Step 5: Repeat the process twice a day for at least 3 months (for lobes) or 7-8 months (for cartilages).
Step 6: Make sure to always follow our piercers' after care advice and remember to book a follow-up appointment after your newly made piercing.
The first rule of the piercing club is: don't touch it. The second rule is: DO NOT touch it. And if you need anything, we're always here for you!
Keep it clean, keep it dry! Don't over do tho :)
After the shower, dry your piercing and the area around your piercing. Bacteria can grow in moisty environments which can get your piercing irritated.
Don't stress about it, drink water and sleep properly.
Don't overclean your piercing, sometimes less is more. Keep it clean but unstressed.
Simple but keep your piercings clean, dry and alone. Healing takes time! Usually more than people expect :)
My best piercing healing tip is, in general, don't overdo it. Allow your body to heal. Most, if not all piercings, are unforgiving with overbearing aftercare. Doing the least (within reason of course) is doing the most.
Best healing tips from me are to fight the urge to touch your healing piercings unless cleaning and listen to your body.
Avoid submerging the piercing in unhygienic bodies of water such as lakes, pools, hot tubs, etc., or make sure to protect your piercing using a waterproof wound sealant bandage. These are available at most drugstores.
Sleeping directly on a healing cartilage piercing can cause irritation, even causing shifts in the piercing’s angle. Placing a travel pillow, on top of your pillow, and then placing your ear in the opening can be helpful to avoid this issue.
Make sure to book a follow-up appointment in a month after your piercing session, or sooner should you wish to ask questions or simply check up on the healing progress. Book here.
